The Market at Pinewood Forrest, a weekly food and artisan market in Fayettville, GA, showcases farm fresh produce, handmade goods and artisan exhibits.
A few weeks back, Andy and I got to tour the very early phases of what will surely become a hotspot on the Southern food scene in the years to come: Pinewood Forrest in Fayetteville, Georgia.
What is Pinewood Forrest?
Pinewood Forrest is a development located adjacent to Pinewood Atlanta Studios in Fayetteville just south of Atlanta and will be home to nearly 3,000 residents once complete. The development will comprise of single-family homes, two hotels, a 600-unit multi-family development, a retail district and 118 acres of public green space with gardens, parks and walking trails. Led by the vision of Dan Cathy, of Chick-fil-a fame, Pinewood Forrest will also be home to approximately a dozen restaurants led by award-winning chefs and restaurateurs.
Introducing The Market at Pinewood Forrest
To set the tone for the new development in advance of its first residents, The Market at Pinewood Forrest opened on Saturday, October 28 inside the new development. Market-goers to this weekly food and artisan market can expect a diverse selection of locally grown, farm fresh produce, handmade goods and demonstrations by local artisans, fun activities and seasonal programming tailored year-round.
“Pinewood Forrest is a community for creatives and makers so it’s natural for The Market to serve as a gathering place for residents and the broader community to support local artists and vendors,” said Rob Parker, President of Pinewood Forrest. “We view locally grown produce and a healthy, vibrant community as two key elements of our wellness philosophy.”
Each weekend, roughly 50 vendors from farmers and chefs to artists will showcase their goods on-site, at a full farmers and artisans market complete with local produce, custom crafted goods and special experiences and programming. The market will be open every Saturday, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. and 4-9 p.m., and on Sundays, 1-5 p.m.

Andy and I could not be more excited about this development and the thought leadership it will surely add to our region’s already rich culinary culture.
