“Before, I wandered as a diversion. Now I wander seriously and sit and read as a diversion.” ~Walker Percy
Not all who wander are lost.
The South is more than a place. It is a sense of place and those of us lucky enough to be born here, raised here or to visit and live here know this to be true. No matter where our journey takes us, we will always be Southerners. Let us take you to the places that have inspired us and expanded our definition of what it means to be Southern. We have traveled all over the South, and places beyond, but there is always a new adventure. Buckle up and let’s do some serious wandering!
21c Museum Hotels
We’re pretty sure this is the only place in the South where your hotel lobby doubles as a first-class modern art museum. As does the restaurant, halls, bathrooms and yes, even guest rooms. Every stay at this thoughtfully curated boutique chain of hotels will be different – and every restaurant is world class – and inspired by the local setting.

Blackberrry Farm // Walland, Tennessee
The very definition of hospitality. Go to rest, to rejuvenate, to eat and drink well – and most of all to be inspired to make each day great for yourself and all around you. Blackberry Farm features an impressive lineup of annual culinary events. Yes, you really are worth it.
Blue Delta Jeans // Oxford, Mississippi
You can visit their shop in Oxford, Mississippi – or they’ll gladly bring the experience to you.
The Graduate // Oxford, Mississippi
We love to sneak away to Oxford during holidays and stay at The Graduate. We enjoy craft cocktails at The Coop, their rooftop restaurant and bar. And we enjoy an easy walk to shopping and many dining options on the nearby Oxford Square.
Kenny’s Farmhouse Cheese // Austin, Kentucky
The air is just fresher out at the Kenny’s Farmhouse Cheese farm and creamery. You’ll enjoy your drive and shopping at the farm store. Kick up your experience a notch by staying the night in their apartments with broad outdoor balconies overlooking the farm – and a glassed-in view to the milking parlor outside your entrance!
Leiper’s Fork Distillery // Leiper’s Fork, Tennessee
We stumbled onto this gem in our travels. The owners and managers are delightful people, and the property is perfection. We look forward to sharing this venue with you at an upcoming Eat Y’all event, but in the meantime, we hope you’ll go for a visit!
Peter Nappi // Nashville, Tennessee
Phillip Nappi and his team are the exude Southern charm and hospitality at their Nashville showroom as well as their brilliantly thoughtful off-site showcases. They have defined customer service and stunning craftsmanship in their beautiful handmade Italian leather shoes and other accessories. Truly a must-have experience.
Pinewood Forrest // Atlanta, Georgia
We’re over the moon about the new community of Pinewood Forest growing quickly adjacent to Pinewood Studios in Fayetteville, Georgia just south of Atlanta. With plans for more than a dozen award-winning chef lead restaurants and an entire residential district dedicated to 100% edible landscaping and a weekly farmer’s market, a new culinary hotspot is brewing at Pinewood Forest.
Ridgeland, Mississippi – Inside + Out
We’re Mississippi born and raised, and one of our favorite spots is the shining city of Ridgeland. We love taking advantage of the opportunities to get outdoors and enjoy the cycling, kayaking, boating and fishing adjacent to some of the state’s top restaurants and shopping. It’s also a perfect overnight stop along the Natchez Trace Parkway between Nashville and Natchez.
