As with all of our food supply, rice isn’t just rice. If you want to feed your family and friends extraordinary easy to prepare meals ranging from soulful to exotic, rice should be your favorite ingredient. But not any rice will do.

Mike Wagner is a tenth generation family farmer growing rice on his own terms on rich blue soils on Two Brooks Farm in the heart of the Mississippi River Delta. Over the past few months, our team has gotten to know Mike and his family including his son Lawrence who has joined the family farming operation recently along with their farm-based milling and packaging operation. We were so impressed with their operation that since we met them that we’ve taken our entire team to their farm for tours along with a myriad of chefs and foodservice industry professionals. To tour Two Brooks Farm is to have your eyes and mind opened to a world of farming possibilities that you never knew existed – and to a world where our food is produced with efficiency in a large scale operation while maintaining exquisite harmony with the environment.

Zagat, a longstanding authority in food review, recently caught wind of the Two Brooks Farm operation and their Mississippi Blue Rice product and visited the farm for themselves to see what it was all about. Zagat claims to “cut through the clutter” to “help guide you towards must-try places.” Zagat’s resulting rice video gives you an inside peek into the rice operation at Two Brooks Farm and the Wagner farm family’s Mississippi Blue Rice.
