Current Issue | The Genuine South

This month, it’s all about getting real. We team up with the Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce to help launch its new branding program, Genuine Mississippi. Further south along the Mississippi River, we’ll visit with New Orleans’ favorite sandwich shop, Turkey & the Wolf. The Southern fashion scene also makes an appearance this month as we kick off our new recurring cocktail column, What’s Shakin’, in Florence, Alabama, home of fashion designer Billy Reid. Bartender Andrew Davis has a great cocktail recipe up his sleeve just in time for the annual Shindig bash. Also in Alabama, we’ll continue our summer series on Southern Food Halls with a visit to the Pizitz building in Birmingham. Join us during the waning days of summer and learn about the people behind the real stories of the Southern Grown and Made food scene.
